How the ass of a horse has determined the design of a space shuttle??
How the ass of a horse has determined the design of a space
shuttle? And, that over 2000 years ago. Is that possible?
Read the below

Can we use the
same analogy to develop something similar? If so, what??
It made me
think of few things.
Firstly,
butterfly effect.
"In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive
dependence on initial
conditions in which a
small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear
system can result in
large differences in a later state."
Telugu speaking
people are more familiar with this effect after watching the movie Nannaku
Prematho by Sukumar. In simple words, a small change can cause an
unimaginable effect in the future. But, what kind of implications does it
have??
Secondly, time
travel.
One of the
interesting discussions which I love is time travel. I have less
idea, but I'm curious, especially the theory behind it. Let's forget if it's
practical or if it's feasible, but something which mostly everyone agrees in
time travel is about a small change in the past can drastically affect the
future, which might even create another reality (something which my
brother-in-law and I discussed after watching the recent Avengers movie).
Recently, I saw
a post in Reddit which said
"when
people talk about traveling to the past, they worry about radically changing
the present by doing something small, but barely anyone in the present really
thinks that they can radically change the future by doing something
small."
So, what does
this imply? Theoretically, if we change a small thing right now, it should have
a significant impact in the future. But, does it really happen?? We often think
that a small change isn't really impacting our lives and go back to previous
habits.
How can we know
if a small change has actually impacted a particular outcome? (from my current
course on Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL), I understand that it's
not an easy job and even MEL wouldn't give you 100% accuracy).
Let's evaluate backwards to find if a certain change has affected the outcome. A simple example is taking paracetamol reduces fever. What if we assume the same about our habits? Like changing something small in our lives can actually make a difference??
I'm not sure
which habits or change I'm actually referring over here, but it's pretty
interesting to see a small change actually has the impact for a larger
unimaginable effect in the future.
And, if
something like a horse's ass can determine the design of a space shuttle, I
guess such a change can make dramatic impact if done in the right way.
