How to bring a change? Is a revolution necessary? No

Recent situation across India made me think of how to bring a change. While there are many methods to do it, there are 2 broad methodologies. One is to bring a change within the system. And, the second is to change the system itself. The current government which brought a change (irrespective of good/bad or right/wrong, it's still a change) through the system. And, if you're against it, do the same. Join the system and change it again.

If you think the whole system is to be changed, then, everyone should be affected by the change. The current changes brought by the government clearly isn't touching many people. So, the second form of change, a revolution is not possible. And, India doesn't need a revolution right now. The system works well. It has imperfections, which have to be addressed. Let's address the imperfections by working within the system.

What are protests achieving? I often complain that it should achieve something. Most protests actually waste time and resources than do the opposite. It's not wrong to protest, but protest in such means it actually hurts. Most protests do not arise to the standard of hurting the actors/state, and ironically they become self-punitive inflicting harm on yourselves (like the child dying during protests at Shaheen Bagh).

When TSRTC employees went against the government for different reasons, I compared their plight with Japanese bus drivers against the government. Don't hurt the people who also lost support to TSRTC, but hurt the government where it hurts. Japanese drivers gave free rides to people instead of stopping services like TSRTC. By doing so, Japanese hurt at multiple points. Firstly, no revenue from bus services. Secondly, loss from the bus ride associates with costs. Thirdly, people are not hurt. These actions prompt to quick turnaround.

While not every strike or protest is similar to that of bus drivers, the mutual damage should be reduced to the maximum extent and hurt the perpetrator most.
